Mattress Cleaning

Our mattress cleaning service at Refresh and Revive is designed to effectively remove dust, allergens, and stains, ensuring your mattress is fresh and hygienic. Here’s a detailed explanation of how our process works: 1. Initial Inspection: We begin with a thorough inspection of your mattress to assess its condition and identify any specific areas that require attention, such as stains or odours. 2. Vacuuming: The first step in the cleaning process is vacuuming the mattress using a high-powered vacuum cleaner. This removes surface dust, dead skin cells, and other particulates that accumulate over time. 3. Spot Treatment: We treat specific stains with specialised cleaning solutions that are effective yet gentle on the mattress fabric. This step is crucial for removing stains without damaging the material. 4. Deep Cleaning: We use a hot water extraction method, also known as steam cleaning. This involves injecting a mixture of hot water and a mild cleaning solution into the mattress fibres and then extracting it along with dissolved dirt and contaminants. This method is highly effective at sanitising the mattress deep down, removing dust mites, bacteria, and other allergens. 5. Drying: After cleaning, the mattress is left to dry. While the hot water extraction method removes most of the moisture, some drying time is still required. We recommend good ventilation in the room or the use of fans to speed up the drying process, ensuring the mattress is dry and ready to use within a few hours. Our mattress cleaning service not only improves the hygiene and lifespan of your mattress but also enhances your sleeping environment, making it healthier and more comfortable. If you have any specific concerns or needs, please let us know, and we can tailor our approach accordingly.

At Refresh and Revive, we recommend having your mattress professionally cleaned at least once a year to maintain optimal cleanliness and hygiene. However, the frequency can vary based on several factors, including: 1. Allergies: If anyone in your household suffers from allergies, more frequent cleaning may be beneficial to remove allergens such as dust mites and pet dander that can accumulate in the mattress. 2. Pets: Homes with pets might require more frequent cleaning, especially if pets have access to the bedroom. 3. Usage: A mattress that is used more frequently, such as in a master bedroom, might need cleaning more often than one in a guest room. Regular professional cleaning helps to extend the life of your mattress by removing oils, sweat, and skin cells that can break down the materials over time. It also ensures a healthier sleeping environment by reducing the buildup of bacteria and allergens. If you are unsure about the best schedule for your mattress, feel free to contact us. We can provide tailored advice based on your specific needs and circumstances.

The duration of the mattress cleaning process can vary depending on several factors such as the size of the mattress, its condition, and the specific cleaning techniques required. However, at Refresh and Revive, we generally follow a streamlined process that allows us to complete the cleaning efficiently. Here’s a typical breakdown: 1. Initial Inspection and Preparation: This takes about 10-15 minutes. We inspect the mattress to assess its condition and identify any specific areas that need attention. 2. Vacuuming and Pre-Treatment: This stage can take around 10-20 minutes. We thoroughly vacuum the mattress to remove surface dust and debris, followed by the application of a pre-treatment solution to any stains or particularly soiled areas. 3. Deep Cleaning: The actual cleaning process usually takes about 30-40 minutes. We use a hot water extraction method, which deeply cleans and sanitizes the mattress, removing dust, mites, and other allergens. 4. Drying Time: While the mattress will be damp after cleaning, it typically dries within a few hours. The exact drying time can depend on the ventilation and humidity in the room. We often recommend leaving the mattress to dry for at least 6-8 hours before remaking the bed. Overall, you can expect the entire mattress cleaning process to take approximately 1 to 2 hours from start to finish, excluding drying time. If you have specific time constraints or require the mattress to be ready sooner, please let us know in advance. We can adjust our techniques or advise on ways to expedite the drying process to accommodate your needs.

Yes, mattress cleaning can significantly help with allergies and respiratory issues. Mattresses can accumulate a variety of allergens, such as dust mites, pet dander, pollen, and mould spores over time. These allergens can trigger symptoms in individuals who suffer from allergies and respiratory conditions like asthma. At Refresh and Revive, our mattress cleaning process is designed to thoroughly remove these allergens, improving the air quality in your bedroom and contributing to a healthier sleeping environment. We use a hot water extraction method, also known as steam cleaning, which effectively removes deep-seated dirt and allergens from the mattress fibres. This method not only cleans the surface but also sanitises the mattress, reducing the presence of allergens and bacteria. Regular professional mattress cleaning can reduce nighttime allergy symptoms such as sneezing, congestion, and irritated eyes. It can also help those with asthma by reducing potential triggers.
